A biker prays at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph. The cathedral bears the name of Saint Joseph, the city’s namesake and the patron saint of pioneers and travelers. The original El Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe — for its proximity to the Guadalupe River — was simplified to San José by newspapers in the 1800s.

Crystal Zhu, Editor in Chief
(she/her) Crystal is a senior and super excited to be one of this year’s Editors-in-Chiefs! In her free time, she enjoys listening to the same five songs on repeat. When she’s not sleeping, you can find her devouring dessert and spicy food. She loves a good sad movie.
