Opening with flowing fabrics and saturated colors, models hit stunning poses on the right, left and center stages. On May 22, student models walked down an elevated platform runway for the annual InDesign fashion show. The theme, Lost in Limbo, featured five categories: Summer Chrysalis, Winter Solstice, Wrinkle in Time, the Dreamstate and Alchemy.
“This was my first year modeling, and right before I had to walk, I was very nervous,” sophomore Betty Huang said. “But once I was actually on stage, I heard so many of my peers in the audience cheering, and I ended up having so much fun.”
Between each set, performance groups Jalwa, Ravens and Breakdance took to the stage to entertain the audience. Freshman and Lynbrook idol winner Athena Taylor also demonstrated powerful vocals with a stunning rendition of “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” by Whitney Houston, before juniors Maddy Chang and Erin Chen sang “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac.
The event concluded with a heartfelt chords ceremony to honor the seniors who had dedicated so much of their time to the club and a chorus of “thank you’s” to everyone who had made the event possible.
“Planning the fashion show with Indesign was truly a reward,” senior and ASB Social Commissioner Chloe Chung said. “After countless lunch meetings and emails, it was extremely rewarding to see the community come together for the show. Watching the talented models, designers and their families all enjoying the show was so fun, especially since this was my last event in ASB.”
