Scarlet clothes and smiles swept the gym during the Farewell Rally on Friday in a heartwarming, high-energy send-off for the Class of 2026.
ASB Spirit commissioners revisited each of the seniors’ previous Homecoming themes — 2022’s “Atlantis,” 2023’s “Alice in Wonderland,” 2024’s “Squid Games” and 2025’s “Avengers: Endgame” — to unlock their memories of high school. The journey was interspersed with features from varsity swimming, varsity boys tennis, track and field and varsity boys volleyball, as well as dynamic routines from cheer, color guard, the Valkyries and Jalwa.
Vikings also showed off their class spirit through games of mattress surfing, pop-the-balloon race and two-person “red light, green light.” After choir vocalists led a quartet rendition of the alma mater, “VIP Vikings” from each grade and two “staff of the week”s were honored.
Following five weeks of eliminations, thunderous cheers gave way to hushed anticipation for the finale of Senior Games, which decided the ultimate winner of a free prom ticket. The seniors took a whole-class photo together before reading their poem, bidding “so long, see you, goodbye and farewell” to Lynbrook. At last, a video compiling teachers’ words of advice passed the torch to the remaining classes — closing the final rally of the school year on a poignant note.
“After 16 rallies across four years, knowing this is the last rally we will ever cheer our hearts out together as the Class of 2026 is both bittersweet and exciting,” senior and ASB Spirit commissioner Joyce Cheung said. “This is one of the last few events left for us seniors, and I hope we all cherish the last few weeks we have together.”
