Lynbrook sports through the decade

2010: The boys’ varsity volleyball team made it to Central Coast Section (CCS) Division I (DI) playoffs and advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Mountain View High School.
2011: For the first time in 18 years, the football team won its Homecoming game 28-7 against The Harker School on Oct. 28.
2012: The boys’ varsity water polo team remained undefeated for all 12 of its games in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League (SCVAL) El Camino Division and won its first CCS DI playoff game, but lost to St. Francis High School in the quarterfinals.
2013: After winning the SCVAL El Camino League title, the girls varsity swimming team advanced to the CCS Championship Meet and placed 30th out of 35 teams.
2014: The girls’ basketball team won the CCS Division II (DII) title, but lost to Clayton Valley High School in the Northern California playoffs of the California State Championship.
2015: With a total score of 395 points to St. Francis High School’s 377, the girls’ golf team finished second at the CCS Championships and advanced to the Northern California Regional Tournament, where they took fifth place as a team.
2016: For the second time in three years, the Valkyries dance team took first place in the Open Kick division at the USA dance nationals championships in Anaheim, California.
2017: After placing fifth in 2015 and seventh in 2016, the marching band and colorguard won second place in the final round of the NorCal Bands of America competition.
2018: The varsity baseball team qualified for the CCS DI playoffs for the first time since 1993. They lost the first game of the playoffs to Homestead High School.
2019: The girls’ and boys’ varsity cross country teams finished third at the CCS DII championships and qualified for the state championship, marking the first time both teams have qualified in the same year.
