Spells flew out in all directions, enchanting the school in a series of mesmerizing performances with the junior homecoming theme “the Wizarding World.”
Skit actors donned on Harry Potter themed robes and magical wands. Color guard members ran across the stage, waving colorful flags to create seamless transitions between scenes. The story of the skit follows the journeys of two Lynbrook students who are transported to the magical world of Harry Potter. After sneaking into Hogwarts, they befriend the students and ultimately help Dumbledore defeat Voldemort and his Monta Vista accomplice in an epic finale.
The script was interspersed with the boys, co-ed and girls dances, featuring popular hit songs like “DNA,” “Money,” “Princess Diana” and “Swish Swish”. In perfect sync with the music, dancers blended various formations with captivating stunts like flips and backbends.
“Everyone worked super hard for our junior homecoming, especially grinding in the last couple weeks,” junior and skit lead Luthien Wang said. “The work paid off in the end when we delivered a wonderful skit with hype dances, backdrop and planters.”
