Friday marked the start of this year’s homecoming celebrations as students gathered in the quad to witness staff members perform their skit around the theme of “the Incredibles”. Through a show of impressive costumes, vibrant colors and spirit, the staff brought a story of heroes and villains to life.
In the performance, the evil villain Syndrome sought to wreak havoc on Lynbrook. With the help of a petty band of accomplices, Syndrome succeeded in capturing all the heroes of Lynbrook City. However, the Incredibles and Frozone come to the rescue, and in an epic final battle, defeated Syndrome with the help of other heroes. In the finale, all staff members gathered in front of the backdrop and performed a dance as cheers erupted from the students.
The staff skit segways homecoming traditions into next week from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4, where the four classes will be performing their skits and dances. The freshmans start on Monday with a “Jumanji” theme, followed by the sophomores on Tuesday with “Back to the Future”. Wednesday will feature the juniors with their theme of “Squid Game,” before concluding with the seniors on Thursday, whose theme remains a mystery. The week’s festivities will culminate in the homecoming rally on Friday, with the homecoming football game occurring later that night.
