During Friday lunch, students walked down the makeshift runway while vibrant Bollywood music filled the quad for the annual Silsilay promotional fashion show. Organized by the American Indian Student Association, the event allowed students to express their support and appreciation for South Asian culture through traditional Indian attire and jewelry.
“I thought the fashion show went great, and we had a very positive turnout,” junior and AISA treasurer Riddhi Maharana said. “I’m very proud of the performances and organization that we had, so I think the show was a success.”
Silsilay will take place on March 15 in the auditorium and will have a variety of Indian dances and performances from schools all over the Bay Area. Tickets will be sold online at bit.ly/silsilay25day and bit.ly/silsilay25night, or in-person from March 10-15 in the quad during lunch.
