Junior Prom 2023: A Starry Night

“TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!” Disco lights and thunderous music flooded the hall as juniors and their guests enjoyed “A Starry Night” at the San Jose Museum of Art on Saturday, March 25. Decked out in dazzling evening gowns and suits, students danced the prom night away to their favorite songs including You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift and Fireworks by Katy Perry.

Desserts, snacks and cocktails were served as students relaxed at decorated tables in the cafe. The game room housed multiple activities such as table tennis, foosball and cards — options for everyone to enjoy. Students also frequented the poker room and the balcony. On the upper floor, prom-goers chatted while waiting in line for the photo booth. Art exhibits on both floors were open for students to appreciate and take photos.

“The museum was a great venue,” juniors Aakash Choudhary, Rohan Patel and Nimay Shankar said. “We had fun dancing with our friends. It truly is not about the prom — what is important is the people there, and everyone here is wonderful.”

After one last song to conclude their prom, students stepped out of the glittery museum into the starry night, taking with them a core junior year memory home.
