Sophia Khubchandani

Since her early childhood, junior Sophia Khubchandani has been fascinated by cameras. Her passion for photography was inspired by her father, who holds a keen interest in the art. From taking photos of her friends and documenting school events, Khubchandani strives to develop her skills in photography. 

“It’s really satisfying to watch something that you make come alive, and it makes me happy to know that other people appreciate it,” Khubchandani said.

In eighth grade, she took a photography class in school, where she was introduced to the basics of photography — her first taste of what would become her future. In high school, she nurtured her skills by joining photo clubs and taking pictures with her friends. She would carry her camera with her everywhere, and soon people began to reach out to her for photoshoots. Through her role in ASB tech, Khubchandani has found opportunities to further her abilities by taking photos of school events. 

Khubchandani hopes to continue cultivating her passion for photography, while also pursuing a career in psychiatry. She expects to keep photography in her life by taking pictures in her free time, or accepting photo requests from others.

“I want to continue documenting people’s lives and being a person that others can trust to preserve their memories for them,” Khubchandani said.
