Cocoa avocado mask

This mask’s ingredients are almost exactly the same as the first avocado mask, but with the addition of cocoa powder. Raw cacao in its purest form has a high amount of cancer fighting, disease busting, premature age-destroying antioxidants. Others had also mentioned that these ingredients were the same as those used in avocado-chocolate desserts, so I had high expectations.

Recipe and Instructions:

  1. Wash and clean your face with soap or a cleanser.
  2. Combine one-quarter ripe avocado, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon raw honey and mash them together.
  3. Apply mixture to face and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse off with water.

Creation Process:

The mixture looked like a brownie or chocolate mix and smelled heavenly. It tasted just like chocolate pudding as well. Mashing avocado with honey and cocoa powder sounds just about as simple as you can get. The riper the avocado, the easier to smash and the smoother texture of the mask.

Review:

This was an incredible mask! The texture of this mask was most similar to store-bought masks, smooth and easy to spread. Perhaps it was because the avocado had been in the fridge, but the mask felt invigorating and cool. I did not have to worry about anything sliding off either, but the brown mixture did become dry toward the end of the resting period. Fortunately, I felt moisture seep back into my face after rinsing. Like with all homemade masks, rinsing took significant time and effort, but the smooth result was worth it. My mom, who has done all the masks with me, mentioned she enjoyed this one the most. I made a chocolate avocado mousse with almost all the same ingredients and it was excellent!
